Last week, I learned what a hemispherectomy is – removal of part of the brain to prevent seizures. I met with the volunteer staff of the Brain Recovery Project (www.brainrecoveryproject.org), a new, Pasadena-based nonprofit, whose mission is to help families whose children have had this surgery. If you have experience with epilepsy patients or people who have had brain surgery, please check out their website to find out more about their mission and how you might be able to help them build this resources for families who face such a difficult illness. I was very inspired by their work and hope you will be too!
