What Comes Around, Goes Around

If you volunteer your time to nonprofits, your church, or your neighbors, you may be able to receive volunteered services as well! The Arroyo Time Bank (arroyotimebank.org) is a dynamic tool used to promote and facilitate the informal and non-commercial exchange of services in order to create a more resilient and sustainable local economy and a more vibrant community. Time Bank members use a simple Internet-based system which lists the services they want to give and receive. This program, Community Weaver, introduces Time Bank members to each other, facilitates exchanges of time, and keeps track of the hours exchanged.   For every hour you help another member, you earn a Time Dollar. Then you can use that Time Dollar to have a neighbor help you. The Time Bank values everyone’s contributions equally. One hour equals one time dollar.
