New JRP Project: Accounting for Outward Bound Adventures

Many nonprofits cut back on staff during the recession without cutting back on services. Outward Bound Adventures (obainc.org) has maintained its mission of providing meaningful nature-based educational experiences for urban under-served youth, young adults and their families, by using volunteers instead of paid staff. This has led to slightly different accounting and bookkeeping practices by different volunteers. Account and CFO Gary is helping review their books to make sure that everything is accurate, up-to-date, and clear for volunteers and board members. Congrats to OBA for maintaining their services during the recession and for being pro-active to maintain good money management. Many thanks to Gary for sharing his unique and important skill set!
