Raising More to Help Needy Kids

Assistance Leagues around the nation help children and families through a variety of programs, most notably Operation School Bell, which gives kids uniforms and supplies for the school year. The Assistance League of Arcadia (www.alarcadia.org) is an all-volunteer organization that serves 7 local school districts with uniforms, health education, books and much more. JRP volunteer Natasha is working with them to plan strategically for fundraising, especially though grants. ALA currently raises most of its funds from Bargain Box Thrift Store (www.alarcadia.org/Bargain_Box_Nonprofit_Thrift_Store.html), but could help even more needy families with more funds. Natasha is helping them look at where they can expand and where they might find additional funding for their work. Thanks to Natasha for her time and to the ALA volunteers who help so many people in need!
