Rebranding for Lake Avenue Community Foundation

Lake Avenue Community Foundation (www.lakeavefoundation.org) provides wonderful academic and enrichment services for under-served youth in Northwest Pasadena. But you’d never know if from their name. The word ‘foundation’ usually means an organization that gives away money to charity, and a community foundation is a specific kind of organization that pools community resources to grant. LACF isn’t located on Lake Avenue (although they are affiliated with the Lake Avenue church), so their name is very misleading! They have wanted to re-name the organization for quite a while, but re-branding took a backseat to providing their great after-school programs. Jericho Road Pasadena has placed a re-branding volunteer at LACF, who worked in marketing in the for-profit sector and now runs a large nonprofit that went through a re-branding process several years ago. Ray will walk LACF through the process of thinking through a new name, then launching the new name with all of their constituents. Thanks for Ray for helping this worthy nonprofit, and to LACF for helping under-served families!
