Counting On Art Education

Art education programs are often the first programs to get cut from schools. But art not only teaches us to appreciate beauty, it can also teach us creative problem-solving skills. RuckusRoots (www.ruckusroots.org) provides an interactive approach fosters positive experiences centered on eco activism and artistic expression. The result is improved community relationships and resourceful young people empowered with valuable skills that will help them build creative, sustainable futures. Although they have great artists and teachers working with them, this new organization needed some professional help to set up good bookkeeping systems from the get-go.
