Applying Fundraising Wisdom to Volunteer Engagement

Friday, May 16, 2014, 9:30am to Noon
Braille Institute, 741 North Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90029

RSVP: by Thursday, May 15

Does the fundraising department get more of your organization’s attention and resources than the volunteer department? Both fundraising and volunteer management are fundamentally about bringing resources to your cause and stewarding beneficial relationships. At this workshop, you will learn best practices from the world of fundraising that can be applied to cultivating great volunteers that will add value to your organization for years to come.

Judy Plunkett has come full circle working at The Huntington. Her father served briefly as its president when she was small, and it has always been an important part of her heritage. Now she passes his photo on the wall every morning as she comes to work.

Presenter Judy Plunkett is the Director of the Society of Fellows at the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens. She has served on numerous boards for local, regional and national nonprofits and has run a foundation. Judy has been a volunteer at every level, so knows both the benefits and challenges of volunteerism.

Development and fundraising staff are welcome to attend, as well as anyone who works with volunteers.

Fee: Members: Free; Non-members: $20 (online or check to DOVIA-LA)
