Volunteer Diversity: Be a Strong Ally

Join DOVIA-LA’s May meeting: Being a Strong Ally, May 20, 2016 (9:30-12pm)
‘Culture’ is a shared set of knowledge, beliefs, customs, morals and habits. Many of us are unaware of our culture, because we grow up in it and consider it normal. It’s important as volunteer managers to look at the best ways to work with a rich and diverse volunteers base. Please join us for an exciting discussion about the evolution of gender. During this discussion, we will talk about how assigned identities at birth are becoming a thing of the past and learn about expanding gender identities.
Presented by Drian Juarez, Program Manager, Transgender Economic Empowerment Project
This meeting will be Friday, May 20th9:30 am – 12:00 pm at the Braille Institute 741 N. Vermont Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90029
-Free parking is available in the Braille Institute’s structure, off New Hampshire Avenue.
