Telling Our Stories

Laurel FoundationMost nonprofits have compelling stories of the lives they change, but helping kids who are affected or infected by HIV/AIDS is especially compelling. Camp Laurel Foundation (laurel-foundation.org) has been helping kids since the AIDS epidemic began and has tracked some of their clients into adulthood. JRP has recently placed filmmaker Shahin (shahinshafaei.com) to edit Laurel’s ample video footage down to a few short videos. The stories will not only highlight the amazing ways that Laurel helps kids, but also educate people about the realities of HIV/AIDS in the 21st century. You can check out some of Laurel’s videos here (vimeo.com/thelaurelfdn) and check back in a few months to see the stories of several young people who are thriving adults despite their diagnoses!
